Big Sis & Company along with Financial Skys have teamed up to put together a wonderful event that focuses on the community as a whole. The community event will be held at the Reston Community Center - Lake Anne in Reston, VA. Each day will have informative workshops being provided to attendees and will provide a great networking opportunity for all. Our Friday event will kick the event off with a Social Networking Event. The goal of this event is to encourage small business owners and those wanting to start their own business. Now is a great time for those who have had this dream to put it into the works. With Workshops from SCORE/SBA, CRH Ltd, Financial Skys, and PNC, you’ll leave more encouraged than you were before. The goal of the event is to show people that with the right direction and help, they too can become their own boss!
Saturday’s theme will bring attention to Domestic Violence which plagues the community for both the young and old as well as other community issues. One in Three women are reported to be victims of Domestic Violence. Domestic Violence ranges from emotional abuse (insults or name calling) to Physical Abuse (kicking, punching, slapping, etc.) This will be the main focus of the event as we help to bring awareness to this issue. The Domestic Violence panel will consist of members from local and national organizations.
In addition, we will focus on other issues that affect the community such as, Health, Beauty, and Finances. We will also have free health screenings, and a Fashion Show.
